Am buying in Carvoeiro and would like to furnish for our own use not rental market. Can anyone point me in the right direction to find good quality furnishings, ie beds, sofa's (sofa bed) dining room furniture, garden / wicker type furniture, curtains etc etc etc does anyone have suggestions?

Also I notice a while back there was a post asking if it was cost effective to ship from UK but didn't see any replies - again and input welcome.

We furnished our place from Decoradinha Mourinha in Portimao. They have fantastic furniture there in all prices. You can furnish your whole villa like we did and they delivered and set up all the furniture, including lighting and curtains, etc. They made matching curtains and bedspreads, etc. I guess not the cheapest but certainly a good choice and an A+ for convenience.

Hi Sandy

I know I can find it again but I'm not too hot on Portimao. You take the turn off the motorway by the Hospital and go straight on under the underpass. Follow the road round and get on the other main road which takes you to Mondelo. Go round the roundabout and come back past Mondelo to the other roundabout. Go right round the roundabout and take the last turning off to the right (so that you don't end up going back down the same road!) and Decoradinha Mourinho is immediately on your left. There is parking there and they do speak English and are very helpful. They have room set ups there so you can see what things will look like.

I hope these directions help you but maybe someone will come on who knows the proper directions and even, possibly, street names??

Good luck 'cos they're worth a look.

We also furnished our place using the same people and can confirm they are excellent. The lady we dealt with is called Thelma and she's great.
