Has anyone used this company who are based in Lagos? I can only suspect that client's kids have used our lovely Rattan dining chairs as trampolines and we are going to have to replace them. :(

We have seen apartments furnished by then and they appear to be of a high standard , not the cheapest.
We have had loungers and a new sofa damaged and we think that like your furniture they were being used as ad hoc diving boards.

Why are renters so uncaring about the villa's furnishings? I hope you both had hefty deposits set aside to pay for the replacements.

It doesn't work that way unfortunately. This was the first time we had been over since last February and a lot of people have come and gone. It's not damage that we would have expected the cleaners to pick up.

One of the biggest opportunities for management companies to enhance their service proposition is to offer a service where they provide a check-in and check-out facility when new tenants arrive and before they leave by carrying out a comprehensive inspection of the property and its fittings with the tenant present, thus avoiding any issues post-holiday.

In the days we rented our property I lost count of the damage that went unchecked - just because the management company had too much to do and couldn't afford the time to provide that service. My wife looks after a friend's property that is rented and she does just that. This year she has replaced 3 sun beds - despite the tenant's best efforts to conceal the damage. It is never easy to bring damage to a tenant's attention when they are back in their home - there is the obvious reaction that they would never damage other people's property and not tell them!!!!

In the latter days of our renting activity I asked our maid to carry out the checks - she was a superstar. In one example she caught the tenant's children throwing a plastic cricket bat at one of the the ceiling fans - which resulted in the fan disintegrating causing considerable damage to the television and some furniture. The reaction from the tenant when I challenged him and informed him of the replacement cost was to complain that the damaged items were old and not fit for purpose. Fortunately I had a £300 damage deposit and while it didn't cover the total, it went a long way towards it.

I believe anybody renting should provide a service whereby there is a check-in and check-out facility, allied to a meet 'n greet - that way any disputes are avoided (maybe). I realise that there are late arrivals, which is only for 3-4 months - but given that a service is being offered/provided - why not go all the way? My wife does it for our friend's clients - and it gets their holiday off to a good start - they know where everything is and the way to operate them. On occasions they decline the facility because of a late arrival - but she goes there the following morning, by arrangement to make sure all is well.

Yes we have used them for furnishing our ne 3 Bed Villa in 2009 and have been buying items from them each year since . You get a personal service staff are ex pats. We bought a large sideboard which after a while one of the doors would not close , so thought they might just replace the door ....but they exchanged the whole item it was 200 cm long so no mean feat to move it in and out ! Always deliver with all packaging intact then unpack and take all the rubbish with them. Excellent
