Re: Taxes
Hi Sue
No we've not received anything and wondered if it was due to the change in status following departure from EU. We have appointed people to handle tax affairs so thought they may well have received correspondence but we've yet to hear from them either.

HI all
I have today received a letter from AT autoridade tributaria e aduaneira. Is this an IMI bill does anyone know? I have never received bills previously as I believe they have been handled through Rocha Brava/fiscal rep. Is this something I now have to sort myself due to Brexit? Sorry for my ignorance but any help greatly appreciated!

Without you giving any clue as to what is in the letter it is difficult for anybody to answer your question.jimmyp wrote: ↑Fri Apr 23, 2021 4:55 pm HI all

Re: Taxes
We received our IMI bills in the UK on Saturday morning.
Re: Taxes
There seem to be different rules. Although I have a fiscal rep my IMI bills have always been sent direct to me. I .pdf a copy to RB accounts and ask them to pay. This has always worked ok.
A friend who also owns at RB has previously had his tax paid direct from RB, but this time has received his in the UK.
I'm assuming the AT, (or RB) database, and list of fiscal reps, may not be Brexit proof.

Re: Taxes
If you are UK resident then you must appoint a fiscal rep resident in Portugal.
You will not receive IMI or other tax department communications any more in the UK.

Re: Taxes
.....but if you have on-line access to your Financas account then you can get the details anywhere in the world, including any of the emails that they send out.
You can pay via on-line banking or direct debit.
I thought that the time limit on appointing a fiscal rep had been postponed another year so that they had time to sort out better on-line systems.
