Prices

Post by Ellie »

Can any of you living in the Lagoa area, tell me what price a 2 bedroom property is going for in Lagoa please?
Thinking in terms of a small townhouse or nice apartment.
Also, if you could tell me what the 'monthly rental' of such a property is?Just a rough idea?
When I had a dinner with a friend there last September, I was told that the cost of renting hadn't changed much since our time there. I found that a bit hard to believe, as we paid around £240-£250 a month for our 2 bedroom apartment then.
Any advice would be appreciated..thanks

I'm not sure about sales prices in Lagoa, but I think you could probably rent somewhere for around 450-500 euros per month.

I don't know exactly how much they are going for, but I am hoping to sell ours for around €200,000! It is big though. It has 4/5 bedrooms. Its actually in Carvoeiro.

That sounds very reasonable rent Kteee..Is that about £300 or so?
and Summer, your place sounds a real bargain for that amount of bedrooms..does that come to about £138,000?
I'm not very good at working out exchange rate!

Its a a traditional Portuguese house though in the style of a townhouse. We aren't going to be selling for another year or so anyway. I would be interested to find out how much it is actually worth though!

Summer, I have no idea of prices but at a guess I'd say its worth a lot more than your €200,000! It sounds very nice.
I always liked the trad. Portuguese houses. Business friends of ours in Lagoa bought one in the centre of the town....walls nigh 2ft thick. They refurbished it and Hub & our carpenter lads put in new wood floors, modern kitchen, new bedroom furniture..they added bits like huge wooden ceiling fan etc..and it looked super!
and in the sever heat of summer months, it was beautifully cool! Thats brought back nice memory...recall young Jamie helping out with painting :)
I feel all sad now....

H has been looking at prices of properties in our post code here in Lincs today..and for a place like ours ( detached, 3bedr. bungalow) its averaging £225,000. Six years ago we bought it for £53,000..seems crazy doesn't it? But its certainly made us situp and think and spurring us into action.
But as I said before, we're in no hurry and will hold out for going rate...hey maybe we could end up buying yours..and I could do a B&B business? ..only kidding :) ..don't think Ive got the energy now

Hey Ellie,
Put this link in your 'Favorites' and use it to convert Sterling into Euros.
I use it all the time and it is great.

Thats a GREAT tip PM. I've been using XE.com for ages, but now that I have Google toolbar, this is just so much easier and quicker.
