This thread is about restaurants and the quality of food and service they provide.
Normally we limit our discussions to those parameters.
If you set the propriotor up as part of the discussion, by producing eulogies, dont be surprised if you you also set that individual up for alternate appraisals!

Saying someone 'is lovely' is hardly producing eulogies!
By that I meant he is very sociable and welcoming when you visit his restaurant - that is part of the 'service' you refer to and your post agrees on that.
But it's a strange sort of philosophy you preach that if someone is complimented then he has to be shot down!
I am not aware of his 'reputation' you refer to and take him as I find him. End of story.
