We quite often call in here as the turning point on our "heartstopper" clifftop walks. Have a drink, but never actually fancied eating there. dont know why......lovely views etc, but just doent excite as a restaurant.

Ah. so thats where Cabek is now?
I knew him when he was Anette's boyfriend and he gave me the recipe for 'Mango Mousse', that he used to make at Colombos, which was delicious :P
Then I believe he worked at his brother's place, the Tapas restaurant near the square?
Ive been down to Bar Boneca but not eaten there. Sadly, I could never manage the steps these days...but a wonderful setting :)

you're right during the day it doesn't really look much as a restaurant, but when they start serving dinners then you can see the tables set up and the bbq on full steam maybe you'll have a diferent opinion.

I beg to differ but she's just had a baby and is living up the road from me!!! Went to Boneca the other day. I didn't fancy a big meal, just a snack so I just had a starter which was smoked salmon with a potato fritter, it was lovely. I've eaten there lots of times and have always had a good meal, the Steak Fernanda is particularly good.

Janinia (sp) at Columbos said that she'd gone back to Germany as her mother wasn't very well, but I think it was just a visit.

Yes it was lovely news about Anette and her baby daughter..I was so happy for her :)

Once I get my leg/hip fixed, its my dream to be able to walk down to Boneca again. We often used to park there at Algar seco and we have been down to the bar in the past.
Im dreaming all the time of being able to walk the clifftops once more, to look at the wonderful sea and sky and breathe in the fresh sea air...oh what Id give to be sitting on the clifftops eating a Dancone icecream :P
Back to the world of dreams.........

 We were there last night Ellie, we sat and had a few cool drinks and the girls walked on down to the boneca (cave) and took some stunning views and pictures. I did not want to risk it with my dodgy knee (God I sound old) must say the smell from the barbecue had my mouth watering. Great place will go back again for sure.

When Carvoeiro is full of "Brits" it is a lovely peaceful setting.

That sounded very nice Lesley :)

Ive got some photos (somewhere) of the cave, that we took when we lived out there. I remember us walking there a lot, specially when Hub had to come back to UK for a few days, Carlos would give Jamie & me a lift into Carvoeiro and we walk on those cliffs and down to Boneca, during the daytime.
Nice memories!
Look after that kneex

Is this Boneca place open as a proper restaurant in the evenings? Last time i was there i asked a waiter the same question and he looked at me as if i was mad, shrugged his shoulders and said 'sometimes'. What's that supposed to mean?
