Can't quite agree with Kelly, I think that the chinese up the stairs is distinctly average bordering on poor and if anyone could help me solve the puzzle of why recently every chinese, UK and CVO, seem to be putting CARROTS in everything, now don't get me wrong,I love CARROTS
but not in everything :?

Been there a couple of times and always had good food and service. Same with the chinese (Grande Mulher?) slightly further up hill on right hand side - they do a good lunchtime offer about 4.90 euros for a choice of starter and main course.

We tried this place in January, because so many other restaurants were closed. Not very Chinese would be the best description. Food served on plates rather than in bowls. We had to ask for chop sticks, and they had no idea what Schechuan meant in terms of either a place or a food style. We found the house wine in Intermarche the next day for 87 cents a bottle.

A better Chinese restaurant is Jardim Sul in Lagoa. It is on the walking street. They are open 7 days a week.

If anyone wants to eat to eat good chinese food in the Algarve there is only one place - Zu Yi on Vilamoura Marina (the one closest to the Tivoli Marina). We go often for lunch and make a dim sum menu from the excellent selection of starters that include home made siu mai dumplings, great sesame prawn toasts etc and wash it down with loads of jasmin tea.
All other places I know in the Algarve (even the so called Chinese Gourmet in Almancil) are nothing more than the slap up westernized chinese you find at high street restaurants in the UK.
