Re: Oasis Restaurant
Karen and Hans - are definately Dutch! So that explains the great ribs etc.Gary/Gaynor wrote:Spare ribs in Holland are to die for and another one of our favourites, is the owner Dutch?

Re: Oasis Restaurant
Aha that definitely says it all, best ribs are here in Holland, especially in a little restaurant called The Fox in our village of Voorburg (just outside The Hague).

VERY pleased to say that the ribs are still the best anywhere I have been, including the dinosaur size ones in USA.
Service is great, prices are extremely good and there is live music opposite on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Always on our list of favourites to return to every visit.
What more could you want!

Re: Oasis Restaurant
Went in there for a drink last Tuesday and watched the Two Girl singers opposite and it was great , So great we returned the next evening to have dinner on the last night of our holiday ................. What a contrast .
The service and the staff were quite good ... very pleasant and attentive
My wife opted for the Peppersteak and myself the Braised Lamb Shank .
The Steak was OK but my Lamb Shank was OK but the sauce was really salty on top of that the timbale of rice that was served was totally inedible .
I asked for the waiter and informed him about the problem and he took my meal away then one of the waitress returned and agreed the rice was bad but the sauce for the Lamb was cooked with others and they had had no complaints ( If i had to bet it was boil in the bag Lamb shank ) Had them so many times .
Anyway they took the meal off the bill which was fine but then went on to totally ignore us for the rest of the evening ... No Desert was offered or coffee
And no acknowledgement when we left .
Ah well .

Re: Oasis Restaurant
How sad that you had a bad experiance, As we have been going in there for many years and never had one bad meal, I think that you must have been very unfortunate.
Considering the years that comments have been made re the Oasis on the Restaurant Reviews, I have only seen positive ones.
But come next week we will be going back to C.V.O and will try again.
And Hope that other people will continue to give custom to the Oasis.

Re: Oasis Restaurant
A lot of the food is pre-vacuum packed & supplied by a catering company, it is then boiled in the bag or dinged.
Re: Oasis Restaurant
and you know this because?......
Re: Oasis Restaurant
A friend of ours worked there.
Re: Oasis Restaurant
I am surprised that anyone would think otherwise. Its neither practical or cost effective ( unless you pay an absolute fortune ) to expect that any restaurant not use pre packed , pre prepared foods in one form or another.
