Best value on the Algarve?
Best value on the Algarve?
I know I have mentioned this one before, but today we had a splendid buffet lunch, all you can eat for 7euros a head.
Hot and cold food, excellently cooked, choice of 16 or so salads, fish, chicken, lasagne etc, and the chef brings round slices of pizza every now and then. Half a litre of red wine between us, and the bill came to 20 euros. Could hardly walk afterwards (as a result of the quantity of food, not the effect of the wine!). It's dearer in the evening though. 9 euros a head.
La Dolce Vita buffet, next to their pasta and pizza restaurant, in Praia da Rocha, on the front road between the two hotels.

Re: Best value on the Algarve?
Now you've started something Dennis. There are certain members of this forum who find it, dare I say, a challenge
to find the best value restaurants in the Algarve, certainly the Carvoeiro area.

Re: Best value on the Algarve?
The problem becomes one of equating cost to quality and value.
We can eat very well for 7 or 8 euros a head.........
We can have a stunning meal, in a lovely setting for 50 euros a head.....
Your criteria at the time determines good value.
We have eaten at both ends of the scale, and appreciated both equally.

Re: Best value on the Algarve?
I hope it's going to be warmer in cvo than it is here at present?
Just joking We can't afford to pay €20+ a head every night, so the package deals are quite attractive to us. If it's clean, the food well cooked and the jug of wine half decent, then we will happily pay €7. Have you tried the one at the far end of Armacao by the fishermen's huts? That used to be very good value.
