Whilst I agree the fish is expensive, their fillet steak is actually one of the cheapest and best around. Perhaps this suggests that they are not a pricey restaurant as such, just that the raw ingredients are VERY expensive?

Do not Know about this place , have not tried it yet but 25EUROS for 1 red prawn charged by a similar place further east literally took some swallowing.

Graham is spot on, RDP is not an expensive restaurant, it is just the ingredients. Compare it to Onze in Carvoeiro where a bit of fish can cost you 35 euros and it's a bargain. Re Emm's comment on the red prawn (assume you mean scarlet prawn i.e. carabineiro) this is the most expensive seafood you can buy here, even more expensice per kilo than lobster. 25 euros per piece for a large one is not expensive at all.

Will be in the area from Sunday 30th Jan for 1 week. Anyone know if RDP is open this time of year for lunch and dinner? E mailes them through official website but no reply as yet.

They were open every day for lunch and dinner in January and told me they didn't have any plans to change that. Best give them a ring.

There were free mohitos to Facebook friends of rei das praias on last night. Worth keeping an eye on their FB page for future offers

been there once never again very expencive for a ordinairy beach bar and extremely arrogant staff
