Now that's what I call good advice :D

I do find it strange sometimes when people visit CVO for the first time, find a great restaurant and re-visit the same one 3 times in a week.
Familiarity has its benefits, but surely experimentation is more fun ? No ?
agree but with kids in tow if you find a couple of nice resturants that you, kids etc enjoy then that takes the stress off in itself, anything for a quiet lifre where kids are concerned.

THe opposite is also true as in our experience with Ele and Elas, if you have a poor meal that puts you off going back again.

We have seen many families eating at Mama Mia;s at Monte Carvoeiro. The large grassy area outside is very popular with small children who get bored listening to adults.
The bars at Monte Carvoeiro have pool tables and one bar has a lifesize Bart Simpson who get beaten up regularly by other small persons.
Phoenix Nights sometimes has a bouncy castle.

Then there's the juggling displays and chinese puzzles. Often a live performer. I think Monte Carvoeiro is great for families.

Would agree that restaurant square in Monte Carvoeiro is very child friendly, and there are two family run restaurants which I would recommend - O Salmao and Elliots. Surprising for both restaurants the chefs are British and their wives are Portuguese. If you are staying west-side then it is very convenient. Hope you enjoy!
