Kappa - me thinks you are a competitor to Primavera.

I was there last night and spoke to the guys there about this post (which they had seen) - they think they know who you are. Moreover, they produced their wine list and nowhere on it was there a €50 bottle of Vinho Verde.

If you are going to criticise - offer constructive criticism supported by unshakable facts - it's better for all concerned :)

I haven´t even anything to do with restaurants, I fear! And I have never been there - I only told what friends had experienced!

Then perhaps you should try for yourself - then your 'criticism' might have some credibility :)

I repeat that I just reported what I had been told - no negative comments on that establishment allowed. I wonder?! Very sad, indeed ....

and rightly so - nice people, good food and a very pleasant ambiance - at least it is for us.

Our experiences:
On sunday, we had a very nice evening at "Ristorante Primavera". We arrived at about 7 pm. The restaurant was nearly empty - only three other couples. About half an hour later, the restaurant was nearly full. This evening they had live music (sax + flute).

In a first impression, the restaurant seems to be very stylish or sophisticated. But in fact it's just fresh renovated and furnished in the best of taste (the 'old' Primavera will not return to mind...). The staff was friendly and made suggestions for our table. The dishes are fresh and were served immediately. And the prices are - except of the meat dishes (25 €) - very reasonable:
- little bottle of Prosecco: 5,50 €
- Antipasti for 2 (ham+cheese+olives, etc): 15.00 €
- Pizza Mafiosi: 9.00€
- Red housewine (0,7 l): 12.00 €
- Mineral water (0,7 l S. Pellegrino): 3.00 €
- 1 espresso: 1 €

We will return!

went for dinner to Primavera last night; will say a quick word for Bar Havana, popped in for a cocktail beforehand, really nice girl behind the bar, ordered cocktails for our group & 2 of everything came up! happy hour is 2 for 1 and they were delicious,

dinner was lovely; nice bread, scallops plentiful and nicely cooked, others had goats cheese salad & piri piri prawns, all very nice; better half had lamb steaks, I had the recommended ribeye, all very nicely cooked & presented; the wine list was nice & varied, I last drank Frascati in 1983 or so, so it was nice to find it on the list, house red wine was very nice,

paid €40 per head but this was well worth that, the furniture & decor in the inner room is really nice, service was helpful & friendly,

nightcaps back in Bar Havana finished a lovely evening :)

Is Primavera owned by the Villa Medici guy? If so, VM is a favourite of ours - and the owner is very open and courteous. Had a decent chat with him last Sept.

Havana Bar is a fav of ours for pre-dinner cocktails - sounds like Jenny behind the bar.

We tried it about three weeks ago and enjoyed it. But to be honest, the service far exceeded the standard of food and made it worthwhile to visit again.
