Restaurant recommendations for children

My sister, brother-in-law and 2 boys, aged 4 and 11 are intending to visit CVO at half term. Any particular recommendations for child friendly restaurants. They will be looking for relatively inexpensive places - the children are used to eating out in the UK but usually in assorted chain restaurants/pubs , the youngest won't want to wait too long but the eldest now enjoys making decisions for others on what to eat (ie me), ordering the food and the whole experience. Apart from my brother-in-law who won't eat fish (great start...) the kids will eat pretty much anything.

Try Phoenix nights, very much a pub type menu and good value. ( plus happy hour drinks for the adults )

Try Happy's, but book. You'll all be well looked after.
As for the young guy who "won't want to wait too long", just educate him!! MacDonalds is not normal.

I have not found one restaurant that is no good for children. Because Cvo is a family resort, every restaurant welcomes children and treats them very well - there are children menus for them, the waiters generally take time to speak to them and it is all in all a good experience. My son has been coming here since he was 4 and I have used the same restaurants that I do when he is not with me. Even the better/more expensive ones cater for them - with lollipops and toys when the meal is finished. And at most, when you are offered a drink at the end of the meal, a fruit juice is often brought out for the children.

So, find a menu you like in your price range, and go in!

Try Restaurante Roma, it has a new management since September 2009 and the food is excellent with an excellent ambience.
The kids will have a good time there once they have a kids club and they can also eat there with a supervision of a nanny (separate of the parents).
Transport is available until 6 people, just call.

I don't think Roma necessarily sits in the 'economical' end of the price range.

Our boys (9 and 6) love Villa Medici, Donatos at Sesmarias and the one with the trees and huge portions at the top of the out road (please help with name somebody!).

For a special treat they love the fillet steaks at L'orange (decent portion but Children's prices) and also think the service at Forno de Fraser is fantastic fun.

They also enjoy the children's chicken tikka at Castelo which at 5 euros is one of the best bargains in town.

Ma Jas are good with kids. They have colouring books and the like and the food is very English. Might seem a cop-out but if you need get them something they will eat.
