restaurant/bar at algar seco?
restaurant/bar at algar seco?
Hello,
Apologies as this has probably been posted elsewhere on the forum, but does anyone know the name of the restaurant/bar at Algar Seco down in the rocks overlooking the water? I've seen references to different places online (Botega Bar, O Botega), but I can't identify which place it is. I believe the owners also own Bar Mixto (?) on the main square in town. Apologies--I know I'm hopeless!
My partner and I ate there last summer and loved the food, service and atmosphere. We're planning our wedding for next summer and this could be the perfect location. Any info would be greatly appreciated! Thank you

Might be called O Boneca
Re: restaurant/bar at algar seco?
It is A Boneca. One of the well know Carvoeiro retauranteur couples had their wedding reception there last year or the year before (time flies and I can't remember which)

Re: restaurant/bar at algar seco?
Hard for me to say this, as it used to be one of our staple favourites, but we went there on Friday night with family and friends for the last night of their holiday and it was just apalling!
I had no problem with the young waiting staff who were charming. Our table was booked for 7pm but our meals took an hour and 15 mins to come and when they did were totally flavourless and overdone. Hard and dry pork steak and ribs that tasted as though they had been dusted with salt then deep fried!
I did complain - something I hate doing - and they refunded the cost of my ribs.
It didn't save a ruinous and expensive evening though ...and to charge 18 euros for one small bream is just insulting.
I'd never been there at night before, just for lunch, maybe that was the problem.
