O Flamingo

We have just returned from Carvoeiro , where we have been going for many years, but for some reason had never been to this restaurant before . We had a very nice meal in the lovely outdoor space but unfortunately there were very few people there. We ate there on Tuesday and when we passed on Friday there was a handwritten notice saying " closed reopens soon". This sign was still there on Sunday which seemed strange. Has it reopened yet ? as it is certainly a restaurant we would like to return to.

We ate there twice last November and were very impressed with the food and the ambience. Again, unfortunately it was not at all busy and we (and the owner) hoped that by summer it would pick up by the summer. We are coming out in October and very much hope that it will be open then.

Reopened a few days ago. tuesday I think

I booked a table for 7 people at O Flamingo for last Saturday night. We arrived at 8pm to find the place locked up and deserted! No sign to explain why. Unbelievable!

We are fast approaching the end of a lovely 3 week break in CVO, and were somewhat disappointed to find O Flamingo closed for our first week, but noticed hand written notices on the menu boards last week stating they were now open again. Didn't look too much at the notices but last night we decided to visit. The menu boards now read 'Sunset Barbeque' meat €12.50 and fish €13.50 drinks etc are not included. All the other restaurants in CVO were busy or bursting with business - except O Flamingo. Didn't want a barbeque as such so we gave it a miss. Not even certain there was anybody at all in the restaurant, very y hard to see in without actually going to the door. Shame as we really enjoyed a meal here at Easter.

TBH it doesn't look bright for the future of this restaurant.

Passed by tonight and the temporary hand written signs are gone, replaced with a printed ' sunset barbeque' poster and printed off menus mostly about fish and prawn skewers.


Couldn't see anybody in the restaurant while every other restaurant was busy, but definitely open again.

Has Flamingos now closed.....we are visiting in a few weeks and we're hoping to pay it a visit as previously always had a good meal here

Was in Carvoeiro last week - Flamingo looked Closed to me, hand written 'closed' sign in menu board out front ..... can't say I'm too disappointed, when we went last year it was our worst meal of the holiday, pool was full of debris and food/service were poor.
