[quote="Geoff"]Hi Kostas......look forward to meeting you on 21 April, unfortunately, we won't be out before then. It would be great if you could suggest a few walks to lead whilst you are out thee.....it was the original idea, but am the only one to do so, so far!

Hi Diane....the books suggested by Kostas are all recommended. If you are only there for a week, look in the Algarve Resident or The Post for Julie Statham's organised walks, usually on a wednesday and a saturday. Its a good way of walking with a group, but they are 5€ per person.[/quote

Hi Geoff

Unfortunately once I am on holiday I will not have access to the internet. Which reminds me, can you publish your plans for 21st April before March 30th please if conveinient or perhaps you could PM me your Mobile phone number

What I was hopeing for was one or two keen walkers who would be available while I was on holiday and we would be able arrange some walks on an add hock basis during the period using our mobile phones

I have had no joy as yet but there is still some time

Pity you are not here sooner, never mind, we cannot have everything

I managed to go on 20 walks last year

In general terms where are these sites located, ie,library, town hall

I am quite close to Lagos if they perhaps have one

How do you think I could perhaps do an internet search for them?

Hope you get clear of your virus soon

Hi Kostas
The best I know for free internet access is the Espaco Internet in Lagoa....it's in the music school ( Conservatorio).....it's poisitioned behind the bus station, which is adjacent to the N125 and has about 20 positions. You need a passport to register the first time. There is also a smaller one above the library in Lagoa. There's another small one in Silves , not far from the Town Hall, amd a v small one on Monchique in the square. I am sure Lagos will have one. Information Bureaux should help.

If all else fails, ring me when I am out there from 19 April on 282 380015 , best before 0930 or after 7.15pm!

I need to explore a few more walks when I amout there, so if you are game for a walk and don't mind getting a bit lost, join Sue & I....details to follow. Thanks for the best wishes!

We had a lovely walk from P de Luz to Burgau and return , in Feb : gorgeous weather and a v nice Verandah cafe in Bergau!

I am sure you could find them on the web, but my searches didn't reveal anything!

Not by me I am afraid, but look in the Resident or Post and Julie Statham usually does walks on a wednesday and saturday, but at 5€ per person.

If you want to try something a bit different, the Algarve Hash House Harriers organise a weekly walk ( with the energetic running) for 5€ per person, but that includes beer and supper. For further information about the Algarve Hash House Harriers, please call 289 413 854 or 919 518 161......sunday afternoon in winter, monday evening in summer, not sure when change over happens......mention " Just Geoff".
