Walk 30 September 2010
Walk 30 September 2010
Meet at 1000 , outside the cemetery in Silves & walk up to the windmill & loop back via the beautiful countryside beyond. About 2 to 2.5 hours.
Directions: driving from CVO to Silves , go over the bridge & turn right. At the roundabout , turn left towards the town & the cemetery is about 100m on the right.
No charge , of course.
For a map of start point, see walk on 12 March 2009.
There are a couple of brief, steep sections. Wear walking boots or stout trainers.
It would be helpful if you could indicate if you can come please.

Rob and I who have recently moved here look forward to joining you.
Hope it's not too strenuous as we are a bit unfit after that very warm summer!

Look forward to meeting you.
walk shouldn´t be too strenuous, I am not that fit!!
There are a few uphill sections, but we take our time to admire the views as we go.....takes about 2.5 hours, but you could always go back after the windmill if you wanted to make it shorter.
Don´t forget to bring some water. a stick is useful on the downhill sections.

A great walk Geoff, thanks. See you again soon.

We had an excellent turnout ( 15 and 3 friendly dogs picked up en route) and a gorgeous day. The windmill was open again, so we could see the renovations.
2 of the pylons destroyed in the Jan gales have ben replaced, rather than mended , leaving just the stumps in the ground.....a timely reminder if why the windmill was positioned up there!
Glad to meet new faces and hope to see you all again.
