Walk Monday February 20th Rocha Delicada Trail

Next week we will be walking the Rocha Delicada 8 km circular trail near Alvor for about two hours. Unlike Geoff’s hikes (designed for mountain goats) this one is flat and mostly along very quiet country roads. It goes past a fish farm, agricultural fields, salt marsh and by the estuary. Not much uphill effort will be required just a couple of gradual hills.

Directions: West on EN 125 towards Lagos. After Figueira and before Mexihoeira Grande there will be a sign left to Estacao. Turn here and we will meet in the station parking lot. (Note: it takes less than 30 minutes from Lagoa to get there).

Unfortunately we cannot achieve the previous high standards of having a watering hole at the end of the walk, so we will drive back 5 kms towards Portimao. Go past the Meridien Hotel and two BP Petrol Stations and the restaurant/cafe is on your left.
