Hi all
We will be doing one next monday at 1000 , but not sure where......might be Agua Bellas IF the water levels have gone down.....could still be an alternative walk there which is drier but more energetic but needs some more recce work.....or something easy like Pocco Berrata.
Will have decided by end of week......other ideas?....if anyone fancies joining us for recce walk on thurs/friday, please advise!
Geoff
PLEASE SEE BELOW.....WALK IS AT AGUAS BELLAS

Thanks, looks like friday then.....1000....Directions: Drive over bridge at Silves & turn right at traffic lights. At next roundabout take the 2nd exit towards the castle. Passing the cemetery walls on your right take next turn right. Follow this road until you reach the Cafe Terinho on the left hand side, about 4 kms from the roundabout in Silves......but park in the carpark about another 200m on right hand side.
Walk is likely to be quite energetic, lots of uphills/down dales !

Following a very successful recce today with Alan & Trish and Bruce & Julia, I am pleased to report that the water levels have subsided and the walk is passable with dry feet, as long as you are adept at using stepping stones!
We will do the walk in reverse, for those who have done it before...it's more interesting and misses out the LONG steepish incline.....unfortunately, you still have a climb, but it's a series of shorter & less steep ones.
Overall difficulty ( scale 1 to 5 ) : 3 Energetic.
Please also note the walk is quite long at about 2 hours 50 mins.
A circular walk ,north of Silves around Aguas Bellas through interesting countryside, with some small streams......and some steepish, but short, climbs.
10.00am start.
Directions: Drive over bridge at Silves & turn right at traffic lights. At next roundabout take the 2nd exit towards the castle. Passing the cemetery walls on your right take next turn right. Follow this road until you reach the Cafe Terinho on the left hand side, about 4 kms from the roundabout in Silves.
Please do not park in front of the cafe : there is plenty of space alongside the road after it......or in a carpark, 150m on the right after the cafe.
Please wear stout trainers or, preferably, walking boots. Walking poles, sun cream, hats and water also recommended.
If the weather is bad, we won't walk : but if showery, please bring something waterproof.
If the weather turns for the worse, any cancellation notice will be posted here by 0900 on the day ; please check if in doubt...or ring me.
All walks are at your own risk.
No charge, of course.
Please indicate below if you are able to come.
Geoff
Any questions please telephone 282 380015 before 0900.
