As it's hot, we thought we would do this in reverse, so it's a gentle climb and a steeper descent.

It's about 2 hours 15 minutes , a slow steady climb, but after that the paths are good. The descent is a bit steepish in places with loose scree.

Cafe does coffee and beer at 80cents!

Walking boots or stout trainers are recommended, along with walking poles.....and a hat and water.

If it's wet, we won't be going.....but bring some wet weather gear in any case!

Tel 282 380015 if you need more info, preferably between 0830/0930 and 1700/1900......before 0915 on the day!

As usual, all at your own risk, and no charge.

Start : 1000

Directions:
From CVO, go to Silves and cross the bridge.
Turn right on the N124 , and bear right over the next roundabout in the direction of Messines.
Go past the Galp petrol station , on the left , until, after about 1.5kms from the bridge, you turn left almost opposite the residential guest House Vila Sodre.

Almost immediately, turn right, and park after about 100m, just before the Cafe Cantinho do Enxerim.
IF you go over the bridge on the N124, you have gone too far!

Please indicate below if you can come.

Lovely walk 8)
Captured it with goggle 'My Tracks', about 9 km form 10am to 12:30.
For technical reasons it was divided in 2 files.

Thanks Rui, it will take some time to digest this lot, but is the max speed correct?

Well, technically yes...
But in pratice it s a error due to gps lapses, sometimes reporting same position while we are walking and then catching up correctly.

Fascinating numbers, just goes to show how long and often we stop to admire the view/catch our breaths!
Anyway , we were a group of 15 in the end , with total time a shade under 2 hours 40 minutes : beautiful day for the walk , we welcomed newcomers Rui , Teresa, and Val , along with old friends:

and had our usual refreshment after :

Cheers, see you in November.

Just a postscript that I had omitted...we walked the route anti-clockwise, meaning a longer but less steep ascent, but rather a steepish descent on loose scree : majority view was that it was better to stick to the usual clockwise route, meaning a shorter, steeper ascent, but overall safer!
