Walks in January & Februrary 2016

Hi all

Yes, it's very early days , but it might be useful just to say that we plan to lead walks every Monday from 25 January ( not 11 Jan as previously stated) till 29 February, inclusive, plus probably the odd recce excursion as well!

These start at 1000 and last about 2 to 2.5 hours.

We usually end up at a local cafe for a coffee or beer....or even a prata de dia for lunch.

We now have a repertoire of over twenty regular walks, graded hard, medium and easy : we can try and match these walks with people's abilities/preferences and whether they have done some walks before, if you can let us know below if you can attend.
Otherwise , we will publish details of locations nearer the time.

We could adjust the days if there is sufficient demand....such as an extra walk on a Saturday.

No charge, of course.

Open to all who are at least moderately fit.....we do recommend wearing walking boots/stout trainers and having a walking pole. They are not "hearty hikes"...more a sociable outing in the lovely countryside (or coast) with a group of like-minded walkers. Plenty of pauses to admire the views/catch your breath, as the best views invariably come after climbing a hill!

Please remember that all walks are undertaken at your own risk.

Hi Geoff

Great to hear about the walks in January and February. We are due to be in Carvoeiro from January 16th, and would love to be booked on each Monday walk from January 18th onwards. We are there throughout February and so can make all the walks except the first one on Jan 11th. Hope it isn't too early to book places on these walks.

We will do lunch every time too.

Please include my wife Christine on the walks November 30th and January 11th and 18th. I won't be able to join due to a knee replacement. Are there none planned for December?

The Algarve Hash House Harriers ( mainly walkers) will be meeting in December ( & all year ) : if you/Christine want to try them, let me know. They meet on a sunday afternoon during the winter.
