WALK ON 11th JAN 2016: Pedreiras

If there is enough interest Willie & Carol will lead a walk on the 11th Jan from Pedreiras, to the east of Silves, on the road to Messines. It is a lovely 2hr walk with only one small hill to negotiate near the start of the walk, probably no more than a 2 on Geof's scale. It has some very nice views of the eastern side of the Barragem. Unfortunately there are no cafes at the start and the meeting point is a wee bit complicated so I suggest we meet just off the N124 where it is signposted off to Pedreiras and Amorosa at 9.45am. I believe this side road is the M1079 and the junction is about 15km from the centre of Silves. The start of the walk is not to far from Casa Da Vinha and O Gralho and will probably eat at one of these places afterwards. Post your interest on the forum and we will provide further info nearer the date.

Good luck Willie...for those unfamiliar with that part of the N124, please note that Pedreiras is a few kms further on from Pedreira, coming from Silves, ....wouldn't want you to loose anyone before you started!

We will meet just off the N124 where it is signposted off to Pedreiras and Amorosa at 9.45am. I believe this side road is the M1079 and the junction is about 15km from the centre of Silves. Do not get confused with the Pedreira which is much closer to Silves. Look for a silver merc cabriolet with British plates (11GES). If anyone wishes to go in convoy from Carvoeiro, or even car share, then let me know on w.whitesmith@sky.com. We will be leaving our house in AdM about 9am.

just to say that Rob is a doubtful, due to the weather....

I have checked the weather forecast for the morning (11th). It says it will be raining early morning but clearing around 9-10. We should therefore be good for the walk. I will double check again in the morning and if there is any doubt or rain forecast I will post something with a decision if we walk or not before 8.30am. Here's hoping it will be fine!
