This is a walk from Figueiras to the national park beyond Alvor estuary. It is around 10 kms. We walk beside the river, by a levada and down to the wildlife area beyond Alvor estuary. It is a flat walk and we may have the opportunity to see bird life. Meet 10am at the Sociedade Recreativo, Figueiras. Drive West along the N125, past the Alvor turning and Penina Golf and approximately 4kms further along take the 2nd right turn into Figueiras, after driving under the footbridge. Plenty of parking further along from the Cafe. The usual rules apply, walk at your own risk, bring a drink and no charge. We are going ahead with the walk as Russell will come too and lead a separate group. We will walk in 2 separate groups of 5. Hopefully someone will cancel last minute so we only have 10. First group leave at 10am with Linda are Janette, Paul, Andrew, Sue. 2nd group leave 10.10am with Russell are David Mieke, Wendy, George, Aileen. Linda
