A beautiful walk at the most easterly part of the Funcho reservoir.

Walk starts at 10h00

Meeting Point : Picnic area just before the bridge over the lake on the M1079 near Pedereiras. ( 37.275234, -8.312366 )

Directions to meeting point: Go to Silves, cross the bridge and take the N124 towards Messines. Take the left hand turn towards Amorosa and Pedreiras. Go through Pedreiras and after about 2km there is a bridge over the lake. Park just before the bridge at the picnic area.

We have not made any specific plans for lunch, and there will not be lunch or coffee at the meeting point itself, so those wanting coffee should have it on the way to the walk. For lunch afterwards we can go to O Gralha, or to a new restaurant on the N124 (Tasca da Zabel) which has obtained very favourable reviews.

Usual caveats - all walks are at your own risk, and we do not walk if it is pouring with rain. We will put any cancellation note on this site by 08h30 on the day of the walk.

Please let me know how you get on...this used to be called O Guerreiro, and we lunched there a few times....very nice owner who opened up especially early for coffee! Great views from restaurant.

Walk will go ahead as planned. There is a possibility of showers after 11h00 so walkers should be prepared for that eventuality.

The walk well, with no rain at all. In fact we needed sun glasses....

For a change we tried a different restaurant close by - Tasca da Zabel. There were 4 dishes of the day, and portions were generous. Cost including tip was 11 euros.
