Linda will be leading this walk. The walk is only 8 kms, mostly on good tracks with no water crossings but there are a few ups and downs. We are walking on some new paths near the start and end of the walk which will enable us to have a small amount of shade. Then we walk around a quiet valley with a baragem at the bottom. There should be good views up into the hills.

Degree of Difficulty: It is a grade 4 due to the number of ups and downs. The usual rules apply, walk at your own risk, bring water and a pole if you use one, no charge.

Meeting Point: Restaurant Ourique. Start time 9:30am.
The cafe wont be open at the start but should be open for refreshments after the walk. They also do a very good set menu for 10 euros for anyone who wishes to stay for lunch and eat al fresco.

Directions: Drive along the N125 to the the Portimao/Monchique exit and follow the N124 directions Monchique/Silves. At the roundabouts keep right and follow the signs for Silves. The restaurant is on the right side of the road on a sharp bend before Odelouca. Please park just before the restaurant.

Alternatively, drive to Silves, over the bridge, turn left and drive on the N124 for 10km, the restaurant will be on your left.

A very enjoyable day out for the group of 9 walkers and 3 dogs. It was a very energetic walk due to the hills and almost 10kms over 2 1/2 hours. All the group, including the dogs stayed for a very enjoyable long lunch at the Ourique restaurant sat in the shade.
