WALK 16th JAN 2023 CUMEADA RIDGE
Posted: Tue Jan 10, 2023 1:44 pm
This is a nice walk which we last did in October 2020.
Moderately easy circular walk along the Baralha river valley and back along the Cumeada ridge with stunning views. One long uphill stretch, but nothing too dramatic.
Start at cafe on the road to the Arade Barragem ( 37.221532, -8.378085 ).
Directions : Drive to Silves, cross the bridge into town and then turn right. At the roundabout take the first exit and then follow the road towards Messines (past Norinha). After about 7km you turn to the left to the Arade Barragem (this is the junction with the palm tree). Follow the road for about 1km and there is a small café on the left with good parking opposite and after the café.
Start: 10h00.....but please arrive by 09h45.
Please indicate if you can come. Please indicate if you wish to stay for lunch. We are close to Norinha, one of our favourite restaurants, so we plan to have lunch there.
Walking boots/stout trainers recommended and walking poles.
Usual caveats - all walks are at your own risk, and we do not walk if it is pouring with rain...no charge, of course...I will endeavour to put any cancellation note on this site by 0830 on the day of the walk.
The walk will be led by David.
Any questions, please ask or ring him 00 33 624 624 792.
