Val de milho

Post by hasthorped »

Just booked 12th to 30th June 2011 on Val de Milho, familiar with central CVO, anyone any suggestions for eateries/ bars in the area? Would be pleased to hear from those in the know.

Many thanks, David. :D

Many thanks logicbob, is this within walking distance? Would be nice to leave the car at home once in a while.

the VDM complex is not that big so depending where your villa is it should be easy.

There is a lovely looking restaurant (not tried it yet) on the main road just up from Julio's, don't know what it is called but looks very nice when you drive by.

Try Chicken George a bit different but worth a visit and cheap as chips!

you can walk down to our nearest beach, Centiannes, there's a nice beach restaurant there, O'Stop, fish, chicken, etc etc, the usual with lovely views of the beach & ocean; opposite that on the main road is the Mona Lisa, lovely pizzas, both walking distance

there are a couple of restaurants at the entrance to Rocha Brava but I don't know much about them, the one on the way to the lighthouse with tables on the patio looks nice

Many thanks, Sunman, sounds as if the good lady and I WILL be able to try a teatime snifter or three without falling foul of the local constabulary!!

Hi David,
Agree with all the above. Julios is great, not as cheap as restaurants in town but great food and service. There is also a great restaurant (been there loads but forget the name!) opposite the entrance to Rocha Brava and a nice little bar just inside Rocha Brava. Both only 10 mins walk. However Carvoeiro offers the best selection and a taxi home to Vale de Milho is only 6 euros, if you fancy the stroll in to work up an appetite! Hope you have a wonderful time.

Why, thankyou, kind lady! Looking forward to our return to the area. Last there 4 or 5 years ago ( must have had a good time, can't remember when! ) will no doubt see some changes, just hope not too many!

Kind regards,

David.
