Very nice meal there the other night. Pity it is a bit like a café and not a little more welcoming. Great views of course!

Before we bought our Apartment we used to stay here and we had some really good times.
The lunches are better than the Eve meals the Kitchen is very small so think they are a bit limited.
Breakfast is good, will be there on sunday, cannot wait.
Jose and Marie always very nice...

We go quite regularly and always enjoy it for a laid back meal. My kids adore the ribs and the fish is usually outstanding.

Jose very upset on Sat, told us after 19 years been asked to leave, as they want to make it posher, I think it is such a shame as that is one of the first places we go when we arrive, laid back, nice sevice, and if you ever go in the Evening it is not really busy as most people walk into the Village.
He told us that is why he has been sad this Summer, such a Shame.
He is going to open somewhere else and it will be on the free map, so I will look out for it...

any news from joao/jose and his own opening?

the recent newsletter of the "algar seco parque" mentioned his leaving at 1.12.07

Your spelling is correct Joao not Jose as I wrote....He told us he would put his new address etc on the free map, and my Parents were told that he is moving into the old Bubbles Bar, but we not sure if it is correct.

Joao will change to the former restaurante O Brasinhas at ther corner of Bubbles Bar. He willl hopefully open the restaurant in January but under a new name

Bistro Algar Seco is open again, Jorge, who was one of the waiters at Bella Vita has taken it over. They are re-fitting the kitchen so are only open for salads/sandwiches at the moment, but the full menu will be available from mid-jan

was talking with the guy from algar secos wife the other day and she asked me to let people know that they will be opening their new restaurant in a couple of weeks time on the junction to bubbles bar.
Please go and have a look, its such a shame how they left algar seco and i know that everyone will wish them the best of luck in their new place.

Go up Restauramt Hill. After going over the crossing near A Rede, turn next left and it is the next left.

MC - are you sure ? If you are going UP Restaurant Hill don't you turn RIGHT, then left ?

MC is correct... they have moved from Algar Seco and are now near the Bubbles Bar...

So to clarify it is up Restaurant Hill and left at the top (after A Rede) then first left
