As for Woodstock, I was far to young to really be there, my parents thought I was at a friends, and it scared the living daylights out of me, weird or what!!
Saw the Beatles in London, now that I do remember, couldn't hear a thing for days! everyone was screaming you couldn't hear them either, still, as they say, 'I was there'

….I never saw The Beatles… but I do remember Beatlemania and seeing all those screaming girls on the telly….. all so very black & white…..Oh yes….. and Fab magazine…..going to the pictures on Saturday afternoon to see “Hard days Night” (and I can’t remember the names of the other films)….(“Help”?)….. playing all their records…..singles, EPs, LPs……piled up on the Danset and listening to the latest release on Radio Luxemburg ….or Caroline…. on my transistor (radio) late at night under the bedclothes when I was supposed to be asleep…….. And then Sgt Pepper …..the summer of 66 (I think) …..and suddenly they were wearing strange brightly coloured clothes…….. wow!!!……… (and I was still in short trousers)……..and unbeknown to me the hippies were here…..Ellie & Lesley Jean… behind kaleidoscope eyes…….

L J /anyone remember Fab magazine? I think they went out of business about 40 years ago! I’ve just done a Google and 266,000 pages come up and 265,000 are about a gay mag. There is a little bit of stuff about Beatles fanclubs….what I was referring to in my earlier post…
Ellie I used to love…and still do of course…the original Britpoppers….along with Beatle and Stones (especially the Brian Jones era) …we had The Who, The Troggs, The Kinks, The Animals, Spencer Davies, The Small Faces, Traffic…….you name it….and yes a little later, wasn’t it, T Rex…timeless…………………….and it doesn’t stop there……oh no………………

Had to reply on this one Digger!
after we watched the old top of pops (featuring T-Rex!)...I put young grandson to bed..and as I walked down stairs...I heard him singing "Get it on"..as you say..theyre timeless
mid 70s was it..flares etc....
I loved The Kinks...Animals (Eric Burden/& was it 'Alan Price'?)...and I still like listening to 'Manfred Mann'...liked their singer/& ( was it mouth organ or harmonica player?) Paul Jones ?..pretty flamingo & all that
Fun music..cant stand a lot of the 'wailing ' stuff today
But heard some good 'rap' today in Lewisham market..got me feet tapping

When I was at college we had a 'new' group playing, bit rough but I liked them, they were the Who!! Mike Jagger's brother Chris was at the same college! yes we wore flares, flower shirts and afghan coats, boy it was such good fun, I did not join in with the recreational pharmaceuticals, just had the time of my life.
Do you remember Long John Baldrey?? saw him play at a pub in Sussex. Loved the animals, first thing I learned to play on the guitar was house of the rising sun, Small Faces, Walker Brothers, they were all so good, my daughters now 23 and 20 love the Kinks, Beatles, and can't understand why I still don't have all the old records, or the clothes!?!
And yes I remember Fab, it was a great magazine, listening to Radio Caroline, and the whole 60's thing. I don't think there will ever be a time like it again.
We will have to have a 60's get together, all of us, in a bar of your choice.
Stay cool man, hey Daddy O, and all that jazz............. now that is something different.
