Oops, forgot to sign in! That was obviously me posting just now.
Don't go all sanctimonious on me td. Some of the worst scenes I witnessed last season were in the game between Aberdeen and Rangers, so don't call it the English disease.
Having said that, one of the best times I had in recent years was in Sevilla last year with 60.000 or so Celtic fans enjoyoing a fanatastic time at the UEFA final without a hint of trouble.
Good and bad in everyone methinks.

Not as long in my memory as a few I can mention dodger ... let's see, was it the mighty Iran or Iraq you scraped a draw with in one of the few occasions you actually got to the World Cup? Lost to Costa Rica and Peru.. was that the same year? Hang on, much more recent, didn't you share six goals with Holland and you got....erm, none of them that's right.
You managed a draw with the Faroe Islands was it last year? At least you've found your level there to ensure fairly close games. Don't play with big boys, it'll just upset you.

I think Anchovys got it right with his last sentence!
and' td'...Im with you all the way on the Rugby (course I am
)......
real sportsmanship..no prima donnas....and d'you know..in the 6 nations..I predicted that Ireland would win....somehow I just knew they would and sent my congratulations for fabulous play and game well won!
Im not usually a footie fan...for the 'oval ball' game is my passion......but I admit to getting 'caught up' in last nights game.......
I was really enjoying it..and to be honest didn't mind who won ...but I did think it awful near the final whistle..that refs decision....I did feel like weeping...
I noticed that its all men posting here...that sensible women have stayed out of it.....apart from me and Sylvia(
) who started it .....ah well....anyone know when the next Rugby lot begins?

The mis-named Beautiful Game

I am not sure why you draw my attention to Scottish events - they are of no consequence or significance to an Irishman. We have far better things to do at sporting events - having fun is the primary one.
Regretfully the Scots took a page out of the English book and use the Old Firm games to make a point to demonstrate all this is wrong with the so called 'Beautiful Game'. If ever there was a mis-use of a title it has to be this one.
If my memory serves me correctly I seem to recall the Heysell Stadium disaster was the first real example of serious English Thuggery abroad - after that it appears to have become compulsory for English yobs to wreak havoc across Europe

thats the differance though,we know we are poor and will win very little whereas your lot think its your devine right to win everything before anything even starts.arrogance, tell me what have you done recently that supports ever england fans claim that they are a footballing super power?ah silence..........no wonder we all love it when you fail, again.
Sorry about that td, we seem to have two threads going at the moment which is probably two threads too many in the majority of board member's opinions I guess!
I have corrected my error already in the other thread. Now seems as good a time as any to knock it on the head though. All it needs is an apology from you for gloating and making me more miserable than I was before I looked in here this morning!
