Got a apartment on restaurant hill. So looking foward to living in town, we lived in the middle of nowhere last time!!

But what would the sun do on that fair Scottish skin then Stacey - before long, you would be hankering for the drizzle and fog - like all Scots who go abroad. That's why most of them emigrated to North Canada - bit of sun but mainly drizzle!

Your probably right haha but right now id do anything to get away from this weather!!

Hope the weather is good when he visit, im sure it will be!! If you guys have any reccomendations for restaurants etc then let me know 'cos we only visited one or two in the town when we were in portugal. Also... most importantly who does the best cocktail!??

Do you know where your apartment is on restaurant hill? I'm always looking for something there if my brother's villa is booked. Around 5 to 7 years ago we used to use Carvoferias Apts opposite the market turn/old Xico Ze. We rented these through Anna (connected with O Barco) and advertised on this site but they've been removed now and don't seem to be rented out.

P.S. Only 49 sleeps now

Its right beside a restaurant called masqueira, is that the name??

ive probably spelled it wrong lol. Im looking foward to it! Does anybody know if this restaurant is good and also the bar beside it?? Im looking foward to a wee visit to monchique, really liked it there when we visited!

That's right up the top of restaurant hill and yes it's a good place. Only been there once but local people seem to rate it. Not sure about the bar - but hey it's a bar!!

Lol exactly! i was a bit worried about staying beside it incase its noisy but i doubt itll be noisy very late and it will be handy for dinner and drinks!

We have used marisqueira for the last 15 years. It's changed a bit over time but the food and service are really good. Need to book though in high season. Try the sole, it is superb.
