Public Transport

Transport Query.
I wonder if anyone will be able to help me, We are coming over in June for 2 weeks and while we are there we would like to go into Lagos for the day. As we dont drive we were going to take taxi's, there will be 10 of us and we thought that might work out expensive so we were wondering if we can get there by public transport,Iknow there is a bus terminal in Lagos but can we get a bus from Carvoeiro directly there or do we have to change, and how long will it take and what are the prices. We wouldnt mind getting a bus or train there and getting taxi's back, but if its to much hassle does anyone know of a taxi company that has a people carrier that would take 10 people and if so what is the cost.
Thanks
Hugh

If my memory serves me correct, catch a local bus from Carvoeiro to LAGOA (not Lagos) - LagOA is situated on the main Faro to LagOS road. You would probably need to change there and catch a bus for LAGOS. Hopefully, this makes sense but LagOA & LagOS are two completely different places. LagOS is well worth a visit - take a boat trip around the caves - superb. Journey time is about 45 - 60 minutes each way - may be worth speaking to the taxi drivers in the square or the Tourist Info Centre.
Hope this is some help!

Hi Loretta
Follow Hughes advice, but be prepared for delays , We went by bus both ways but we didnt get away from the Bus station for well over an hour. However the journey was wonderfull , very scenic all the way.
On the journey back the roof window blew off and the driver had to chase after it , all adds to the fun.
No its not as bad as that sounds the bus was a luxury coach both ways Quite a surprise!
