UK Accomodation

Post by HelenP »

I would like to take my teenage daughter and 3 of her friends away for a weekend (17th-19th Jan) to show them there is life outside computers, TV and shopping! (Don't tell me, I know I'm mad!)

I would like to rent a cottage, barn etc. self catering so they can learn to cook :D but can only find ones on a weekly rent and didn't really want to spend that much. Would prefer central england/wales. Close to a pub would also meet my needs!

Does anybody know of anything that may fit the bill????

Helen--its only a suggestion--but have you thought of a "working holiday" --by that I mean where you go to join others and it doesn't cost much at all?
I did have some info on --for example---learning to re-build stonewalls in the Dales ---from what I recall--you all mix in and share cooking etc whilst learning a skill.
Ill try to find some info for you. When ours were that age--we used to go camping--which was great fun--but not in January :!:

Thanks Ellie, there doesn't seem to be much activity type events available at that time of the year and just for a weekend. I think camping would be one step too far for them in Jan. Would be fun watching them from my hotel window though!
