'Light wood' furniture?

Post by steveh »

Does anyone know where we might get light wood (pref not pine) - or even white - living/dining room furniture that's decent quality but also reasonably priced? We've seen lots of teak stuff and either very expensive or very cheap-looking white stuff.
Would be grateful for any ideas - thanks.

'Ma Maison' in Lagoa opposite the football ground has some lovely furniture & offer different wood/colour finishes to order. The other large furninture shop in Lagoa (can't remember its name) on EN125 before the Modelo roundabout has furniture from white through to dark. We have bought furniture in both & found them to be very good. We did look at Style Furnishings but thought their range was limited & expensive. The big new furniture store just before Lagos has light oak & white furniture.

We used Sofavip in Lagoa for dining furniture, coffee tables and some bedroom furniture. The range is "Du Bosque", and although pine based, it is stained to a slightly darker, richer colour. After 3 years we have had no problems.

I can recommend Style Furnishings and they are very friendly and helpful. They don't stock a large range but have a wide range available to order.

We used Movaflor in Portimao. We also used a small warehouse type furniture shop. I would definitely recommend these smaller warehouse types as they are very accommodating. We bought a bedroom suite from one and when I asked when would they be able to deliver, I was told, "it is on the van now" and they almost followed me back to our apartment. Now thats service. I have been back there a few times for other bits that we needed and always had the same service.

That big lighting shop is very good too, we got most of our indoor & outdoor lights & ceiling fans there.
