Casa Algarvia does some nice fish. Top end of Restarant Hill on the left. Even in February when most places were struggling for trade it was busy.

Depends how far you want to walk! The Tivoli is about half a km from the "top" of restaurant hill, and these restaurants are about another half a k from there - so about 1km in total. I think. I could be totally wrong as I have never actually walked to the Tivoli!

My faves are:

Maxims by far
Then (in no particlar order but have generally have good meals)
A Gale
A Rede
Marisqueira
Ele and Ela

The Marisqueira and A Rede are the closest ones to the Tivoli.

I have walked to the Tivoli and if you don't mind the steep hill climb on the way back then its not too bad! If you don't fancy the walk back up hill after a nice meal there are plenty of taxis outside Columbo's and Smilers...

there is a sign towards the bottom of Estrada do Farol (restaurant hill) that says 900m to Tivoli. Easy walk to Marisqueira from Tivoli and you could also try Vimar Grill which is nice too.

Hi

Most restaurants in CVO are of the same wonderful quality, so when I am planning my evening out I always take other things into consideration eg service., therefore, here is my suggested list:-
- Colombos ~ Very friendly and the best steak in CVO
- Jota Litas ~ Very friendly, make sure you ask "a conta faz favor", don't ask for the bill.
- Casa Algarvia ~ watch the tomato soup, you may have a lovely surprise
- A Gale ~ Very friendly
- A Vela ~ Very friendly, interesting starters

I'm getting hungry just writing this, all I can say is enjoy your meals, wherever you end up. And when you come back give us you top five restaurants.

In alphabetic order:

A Boneca
A Galé
Casa Algarvia
Jardim do Farol (beside Rocha Brava)
Jota Lita

And if you feel strong enough to wlk to Lagoa:
Lotus and A Paleta. (Very good value for money)

Anyway, have you considered the possibility of trying the buffet of the Almansor Hotel.

Bom proveito!!

Victor I agree with you about Brasserie Marina but as it was outside of cvo I didn't include it in my list, but one of the best restaurants in the area.
