Where is the best restaurant for Chicken Piri-piri?
Chicken piri-piri
I was rather hoping for recommendations a bit closer than Guia! I too have heard that Guia's the place to go but I don't fancy driving back from there with 2 gin and tonics, a bottle of white wine and half a bottle of port swimming around inside me.

Chicken piri-piri
Where is the take away chicken place in Carvoeiro, biffas 1st darling? I used to go to Dongo's snack bar for take away chicken piri piri. It used to take about an hour to cook so we'd have 3 or 4 pints then drive back to the villa. Great times.

The question was where can you get good piri-piri closer than Guia. A Velha Lantern - call theirs African Chicken. Martins Grill upstairs next to O Patio is a little more expensive 10.50 Euros BUT their chicken has much more meat on the bones and the flavour is a little hotter (which I like).
Estrala do Mar is pretty good too.
How far wrong can you go with Chicken Piri-Piri????

DON´T FORGET!!!!!
Don´t forget " A galé", the chef makes their own piri-piri sauce and you can be sure is pure and authentic "viagra bomb".
And their spicy rise...hummm, just have to ask for it and enjoy.

the best piri piri in the algarve
piri piri meaning pepper pepper, sometimes pronounced pili pili!!
The best piri piri is senhour frango himself in guia, theodosios.
You will not beat this, but if you dont fancy the drive you can go to:
murufa 2 in quartera is i think is numero uno, its 90% locals and 10% tourists.
Its a hidden tresaure unlike guia

Thanks for the reply pcarty11 but when you mention murufa 2 in quartera do you mean 'quarteira'? If so, then Quarteira is twice as far as Guia and is the Algarve's version of Hastings so I won't be going there for a plate of chicken and chips. Or is there a place called Quartera, close to Carvoeiro that I've never heard of? Please explain.
