Arn't Kids Great

Post by Karen Ann »

All of us who are lucky enough to have Portuguese friends know that when you meet them they greet you with a kiss on both cheeks. Well I had my 3 yr old grandson with me when I bumped into Pedro from Columbos and he greeted me with kisses. My grandson asked me why that man had kissed me, to which I explained that he was a friend. It must have been playing on his mind because when he saw my husband he shouted, Grandad, that man round there kissed my nanna. Everyone around had a little chuckle and all I can say is, it's a good job my hubby knew who he was talking about. Arn't kids great?

Not really on topic (sorry G)

But today a couple came into our company (airport car parking at Manchester Airport). with a little girl about three. who had obviously been told she was going on holiday and had endured the three hour car journey from newcastle'

Oh' she said as she entered our office., Mummy is "this Lanzarote'?

how easily our expectations change.

(its been called some things but....)

if you have no tortoise

Whenever we went shopping, my youngest son, then aged about 4, always referred to the retail book/toyshop W H Smiths, as "Sniffs". Now, thirty years later, we still do!

My two girls referred to one very well known 'person' as Arfur Clingcling. Can you guess who he was?

Ooooh ! how cute , its not just what the little angels say but what they do that sticks in the memory. I have been childminding and babysitting for many years , and they little angels catch me unaware.
One of my little ones , 9 months old , just toddling around the furniture , part way through potty training , hot day , I was cleaning the fridge for the family , got up to change water , strange sound , turned round and the little devil was tiddling in the fridge i had just cleaned.
Beat that one !!!
( and yes i did clean it again !!! ).

When my son was very young he was incredibly car-sick - once he threw up before I had started the car!

However, one day we were driving from Hampshire to my parents house in Clitheroe and we had just got to Gloucester and my son (aged 6) said "Dad, I'm thirsty - can I have a drink" - to which I replied "Not yet, wait til we stop for lunch" knowing even water may cause him to throw up when the car was moving. To which he replied, "... but I really am very, very thirsty" - and kept on and on and on .... eventually I lost patience and asked my wife to give him a small carton of orange juice. He gratefully accepted, downed the entire carton and threw up all over the back of my seat and me! I stopped the car, turned round to look at him (dripping in once-used orange juice) and he smiled sweetly at me and said .....

"Oops - I meant I felt sick!" :x :x

Our youngest Jamie used to say,
"I would like a piece of quiet please"
