Any body know those Gary larson cartoons?well i keep getting this image of michael bollic naked on a beach on his hands and knees with this big black 14 stone bull mastif behind him,tapping him on the shoulder and asking,"remember me,brighton beach,1988 well your my little puppy now".

I had managed to successfully prohibit any images involving the mighty MC enter my head following the reading of his poetic description of dune sex, now you Gerry make it as base and graphic as it can be and I can't get the image to go away - thanks for that friend - NOT

No maddi, i didn,t make it as base and graphic as i could ,and i did not intend to upset you as much as i seem to have.I knew i was pushing the line on this one just the way its been pushed eleswhere and in fairness this was only a cartoon.Now i think i,ll leave it at that.

Last night on Look North on Yorkshire television the news report had Portuguese spelled as Portugese . . . .

and on the weather forecast we were warned (on screen) about:

Snow showers showers and icy roads

What is the Beeb coming to!

Maddi, have you read the book "Eats, Shoots and leaves" Its all about a poor use of grammar and I'm sure you would love it. I've only read the back cover, that explains the title:

Basically a Panda goes into a cafe, eats a sandwich, then draws a gun and fires two shots into the air.

"Why?" asks the confused waiter, as the panda makes towards the exit. The panda produces a badly punctuated wildlife manual and tosses it over his shoulder.

"I'm a panda," he says, at the door. "look it up."

The waiter turns to the relevant entry and, sure enough, finds an explanation.

PANDA. Large black-and-white bear-like mammal,native to China. Eats, shoots and leaves."

So grammar really does matter!
