2 WEEK CAR HIRE
2 WEEK CAR HIRE
Hi All
I am arriving at Faro in August and have been trying to get quotes for car hire for the 2 week period.
The car required is a Ford Focus Estate or similar as we need to fit the all important golf clubs in!
When I travelled before I used www.allinclusivecarhire.com but they are quoting me £566.67 for the fortnight.
Any ideas on anyone that is cheaper?
Many Thanks

TravelRent booked via Economy Car Hire Insurance is a con. I know this from experience of damaging one of their cars which I had hired. When you read the exclusions it turns out that hardly anything you expect to be covered is actually covered. Go on their web sites and go to the trouble of reading the terms and conditions. I hadn't done that until after the accident. I rang their office in the UK and got a rude awakening.
I rented from them because I believed it would be hassle free full insurance. It isn't even close. Apart from 3rd party it is more or less useless.
Any good tips from someone out there

I've always found these pretty competitive.
I also take this insurance policy out. Its an annual policy but even for a single trip of 14 days I think it might work out cheaper.

Car Rental
The best price we have found is with www.reservacar.com and you can get an online quote. Have just used them once, you are met at the airport and there's a good choice of vehicles.

The website's algarvedriver (alias YOR car hire) usually has good prices. We use the wonderfully named Zitauto - www.zitautorentacar.co.uk - their price for a Peugeot 207 estate per week is around 170E and for a bigger estate, eg, Ford C-Max or Renault Megane, is 230E per week in August.

Car Hire
I have used www.argushire.com and they will find you the best deal which incidentally in my case was Travel Rent ( as suggested by MC) for a Ford Fiesta air con 5 door or similar. Euro 266 and 4 euro per day for complete cover and peace of mind!! for last fortnight in July 08. Used Algarve Driver last year and no complaints although a bit pricier this year from the quotes i received. Oh and bluenose after the season you guys have had thought you would appreciate this advice.....one thrifty scot to another so to speak.
Have a great time.
