I remember my cousin, Stephen, used to get totally engrossed in whichever TV programme he was watching.
On this occasion his mum came in to ask who wanted cake and custard, to which we all said yes please. He never answered so she asked him again.
He replied by calling after her, "Yes, I'll have cake and monster". He was watching a Sci Fi programme.
May I say, he has never lived it down.

I always remember when my daughter was about 3 or 4 she would come into our bed and play games on a Sunday morning. This particular morning it was I Spy. When it was her turn she said "I spy something beginning with D" So went through them all; door, dog, dresser, etc. When we eventually gave up she triumphantly said "DE WINDOW !!!!" Why didn't we guess that??
Her English has improved a little since then

Ahh thats sweet Geoff :)

When my daughter was about 3 or 4, she could never say 'cricket' and it used to come out as 'pricket'....we still tease her about it even though she has a son of her own now

When I was a kid my brother, whos 2 years younger than me, was frightened of feathers..we had feather pillows then. Guess what I did when I found out? I would lay one on his pillow just before he went to bed
People always thought me a shy child...but I was a bit of a minx at times.

Mind you, when we got older he got his own back by waiting for me as I went up to bed and would leap out at me covered in a sheet..scaring me witless. I could never get to the light switch in time before he did this!

ok I may embaress myself here as well as my little bunny , but I dont think he should be a painter when he grows up. I asked him to bring me my phone case from the bedroom , " where is it he shouts " ? , in the drawer says I , not really thinking. A few minutes later he comes out giggling , hands me a wrapped condom and says " mum youve got one of those DULUX things in your drawer " , :? :?

Hey Wabbit,

Many years ago when I was doing shift work my wife sent my 3 year old to wake me up . Did he shake me ? did he say "wake up Daddy " ? No. The little so and so hit me on the forehead with the business end of a steel-toe capped boot !

When my twin boys were in primary school they had to sing Cliff Richards' song - The Millenium Prayer for their Christmas concert. I listened to them rehersing one night and they came out with "Our Father, who art in heaven, Harold is his name". Maybe I should have taken them to church more!

A story my mum told me, which I don't recall as I was only about 3 at the time was~
"There was a posh lady sitting in front of us on a bus. She was wearing a beautiful hat."
You have the picture?
"I asked my mum, 'mum, why's that woman got a cowboy hat on' to which my mum tried to quieten me down, however, being a young child, I needed an answer so just repeated, louder. 'WHY HAS THAT WOMAN GOT A COWBOY HAT ON?'
Mum answered me with a quiet 'I don't know'
I must say that my mum said that at the time she just wished that the earth would open up.

Several years ago, we were on holiday at Cala d-or in Majorca. Our then 7 year old son, fascinated by a middle aged German womans very obviously silicon enhanced Wagnarian cones, piped up in a very loud and insistant voice "Daddy....has that lady had a boob job?"

A cry that earned me the dirtiest possible glare from the woman in question!

My son is 2 and a half. current classics include:

When he wants to go outside without his shoes on he says "no shoes thanks, i'll just wear my feet"

he calls things he can't have "dirty"... on Saturday we walked into a newsagent and he asked for a magazine. I said not sure he could get one, see how much change i had. Got to the counter and he asked the lady for a "Dirty magazine please"
