Go. You will not be disappointed. There are some really lovely extra touches, the waiter was lovely, and the food was nearly perfect, a little more expensive thtan others, but well worth it!

Just had menu for Christmas Day and it looks really good 3 courses 37 Euros, 4 courses 43.50 and 5 courses 49.75.

It is worth starving yourself all day and going for the 5 courses - we did it a few years ago and it was super.

Probably the best restaurant in Carvoeiro - John, Francine, Edwin (their son) and Ludmilla - go out of their way to make it a really pleasant experience.

Then there's the food - and that really is 'the icing on the cake'.

Make sure you take cash or MultiBanco plastic - they do not take non-Portuguese plastic.

Sure we will, I have a Portu Credit Card and Switch. Can you use them in the Restaurant? I thought they did not take any plastic

I have a Totta Debit Card on my account in Carvoeiro and always use that to pay in Maximes.

John explained to me that his bank facility will only accept cards that are drawn on Portuguese bank accounts. I don't know anything about Switch. If you get stuck you can always run across the road to the Totta/MultiBanco ATM.

We will be in there on the 28th and counting the days.

Dec? You will have to go to one of the meet ups, Ed arranged one for Boxing Day, and sure there will be more posted as there seema a lot out this year.

I don't think you will be disappointed with Maximes - always had excellent food and service here.

Have had some lovely evenings at Maximes including Xmas Day last year - excellent value and atmosphere. Definitely one of the best.
