that for a wine producing and drinking country ..no villas have wine cellers as they do in france for example...is it because portuguese wine doesnt keep or is it because its consumed too quickly?

its a pleasure to see people drink wine here without all this stupid nonsense you get in the uk with "experts" saying about some wine "ooooh its so fruity" or " aaaaaah its so pretencious" " a nice little one"

only the british seem to make drinking wine snobbish!

Totally agree with you (as you can tell from my username). I'm a great lover of wine but no conoisseur. If its drinkable - I drink it. If its gorgeous - I don't like to share

By the way, I have no idea why there are very few villas/houses about without wine cellars.

I never understood it too much either, people around me being all posh about wines they keep and how old the wine is. I like to keep it simple , no matter how old the wine is, if it is drinkable one should drink it..........kind of 'carpe diem' principle..............

Yes,Im afraid 'nothing' is ever left lying around here drink wise ! Any leftovers ....I slosh into the meat or sauce/gravy etc...I get almost 'pie-eyed' from the fumes/vapours ..but it makes cooking more fun
Shall we along with redwine girl..form a club..the 'Dont leave it laying around society' ?..something like that?

Ah guys don,t ruin it .any body remember that blondey one on the food and drink show?by the time she was finished sloshing it around ...sniffing it .....sipping it .....describing the big nose .......velvet bucket.....aroma of citrus fruits on a summer night drifting across the african plains...jaysus yid smother your mother for a drop of the aul vino and in fairness the only one i like is that vino verde stuff and thats about 50p a bucket.

aah gerry me boy..had a pint of your irish guiness...lovely aroma of county cork with a dash of dublin..found it rather uplifting with a hint of un worldly flavour..bit unpretencious..but settled the palatte quite well with my beef cooked in baileys in midsummer glory

The Portuguese drink young/youngish wine normally. But, on special occasions, enjoy a vintage with a good meal at a restaurant. So no need to keep it at home.
