Anyone know Burgau?

Post by dawnw »

Is there anyone on here that can tell me something about Burgau?
Along with Carvoeiro, it was the other place recommended for me to stay in the Algarve. Trouble is I can't find much out about it.
Does anyone know of any good websites for places to stay / find some general info?

Thanks,
Dawn

Try this link Dawn, There is not much in the way of Restaraunts and bars in that area. Stick with Carvoeiro. Mike. http://www.algarve-luzbay.com/burgau_index.html

We have stayed in CVO about 6 times since 1998 - we all love the place as its very friendly with plenty of good restaurants & watering holes!! Only complaint, the sea is always pretty cold even in the height of summer - not much anyone can do about that. Visited Burgau twice from CVO - v. nice but I think you could get a bit bored if you spent the whole holiday there.

CVO is an excellent choice - just peruse some of the comments on this web-site - good base for hiring a car & getting around, but avoid some of its grossly over-developed neighbours.

ENJOY!!

Regards to all in CVO

Burgau etc

My two cents -

Burgau is OK but Carvoeiro has more charm & beauty.

Luz might appeal to you too - has very pretty beach, not too big, no high rises, but again not - in my opinion - on a par with CVO.

Another possibility for you, further west, is Selena. Like Burgau, it is small, still quaint or almost, and if you get a place up on the hill, it has spectacular beauty. But that hill is steep!

:)

If you really are looking for somewhere non high rise to just chill out have a look at cabannas, the other side of faro, now that realy is a fishing village.

I fully agree with Gerry on this one. Once you leave Lagoes and head west along the coast you begin to see what the Algarve was like in years past. Sorry to say that the rest of the coast is starting to look like Florida.
