After reading good reports of this restaurant on this forum, we ate there twice when we were out in January. Both times the meals and service were excellent.

What's with the Cliff Richard reference? Is he a regular patron? If so, I won't be able to get my wife away from the place when we come out in March. It's bad enough having his latest CD playing almost continuously in the car.

Don't know about Cliff, I've never seen him there but he is often at the Restaurant Atlantico in Guia.

May I add my recommendation
Good location , great service and most of all superb food. My pick as the best restaurant in CVO for the last 2 years.
I love it when they bring up an extra course which is some new or different dish not on the menu which the chef has prepared.
To have the chef come out and shake your hand on departure is also a very nice touch and a good opportunity to thank him.

La Bella Vita and maybe next the Shadows!

Post by Rosie2202 »

My wife and I often eat at Bella Vita when we are over in CVO. She visited the Restuarant last June without me but with my Daughter and on returning home she complained at the time she had to wait for her meal to be served which is when she noticed a not too tall a man with several guests in the Restuarant. She then knew from the voice who he was. My wife said to my Daughter that this delay would not occur if your Father was here! To which the reply was, No Mother, it is because you are not a Celebrity. The matter was taken up with the waiter who apologised but clearly who you are does make a difference. I understand he does get in there a few times a year.

Cliff Richard regularly visits Brassiere Marina, so I've heard over the years. Bella Vita is without doubt my favourite too and we get a special welcome there because the Judy speaks Italian, we don't get a discount though :(

I think parents on their "Summer Holiday" this year should take their "Young Ones" to La Bella Vita and offer "Congratulations" to the chef and management :D

We tried Bella Vita for the first time back in september and were quite impressed. Good service, food and wine list. I did notice that there were a lot of very serious looking people dining there and a disproportionate number of northern european lesbians. There might have been some sort of womens football tournament going on nearby.

we went there on valentines night (last sunday)&the food was again superb.we have been several times&we cannot visit CVO without paying a visit.the whole experience is just fantastic, the waiters do not rush you in any way shape or form they just advise you of the specials&leave it up to you.if the chef is not too busy he usually comes out as you leave to thank you for your custom,i nice touch i think

Funny you say that, went there for first time last July and although had an excellent meal (if a little pricey but suppose choosing scallops did not help) also remember a few butch looking female couples!

Thought was just one off at the time, but obviously not, and carving itself i bit of a niche :)

Re Rosie's post. I thought that Primavera had closed down, as they had enough from irate customers..........
Is this correct?
