I think it maybe a similar but smaller ramp that's on the otherside for wheelchair access.

Yes, it is Mike. They dug a very large hole for a fairly small ramp, but I guess it is built on sand. A lot of the square that had been levelled is now being dug up again and pipes buried. Drainage, I assume.

Has anything else happened on the in/out roads since Rua do Barranco was made two way and has all the parking in the centre now gone?

I don't know :? looking at the view now on the web cam - http://www.algarve-webcams.com/index.ph ... iro-strand
it appears to have steps down to the sand or if not then it is a level piece of concrete and not a slope to get to the beach. Anyone out there had a good look???

We had a look on tuesday, their was a lot of work going on in the square with new kerb stones being laid so the layout should soon be discernable.

The out road is now in out with parking limited, the GNR were patrolling to make sure that it is kept clear.

The old in out road is now NO entry.downhill ( other than buses ) at the junction by the market.
However this is being ignored by many who drive down in the face of oncoming traffic.

What amuses me about all this is the way everyone has to play a guessing game to try and work out what is going to be the result of all these works.

Is there no such thing as a planning office there where the plans can be inspected or are they making it up as they go along?

Looking today it seems the road where the beach cam and GNR are situated on the left is now blocked off.

Perhaps trying to guess the end result is more fun!

They've been digging holes all over the place. I don't know if they are part of the work on new services or just taking advantage of the diggers and things whilst they are about.;
