Lagoa have now Halved the scale of charges of usage it's now only 25cm' instead of 50cm' before you go on to scale 4 & 5 the more expensive scale.
They've halved the number of metres consumed at each scale! crafty eh?
That's quite a massive price hike. I know what you'll answer but are they allowed to do that. The Algarves dying a slow death for sure. :(

Was this when they changed the billing from two monthly to monthly? If so are you not still getting the same amount at the lower scales over a two month period?

Have the Camara got it wrong, they're now invoicing monthly instead of bi-monthly and they've lowered the usage level discounts by 50% shouldn't they have doubled them?????? :? Surely some accountant out there can tell me, if they're right this is quite a significant unnanounced increase in water costs

Pato, does this help:

Hypothetical rate card:

1st 100 units in the billing period cost 10 euros each
next 100 units in the billing period cost 15 euros each (yes, it goes UP)

If you halved the billing period, you halve the time during which one can consume the 1st 100 units, so they have reduced the 1st band.

Does this make sense ?
Have I got it right anyway ?

OK! but I think they've doubled the billing period. since the 15/05/08 they were originally bi-monthly, now they're monthly, so they've doubled the usage period which to me means they should double the lower rate usage, instead they've halved it, looks like a cock up to me, but who am I? a mere scouser caught up in the inexplicable financial antics of Lagoa Camara, we're supposed to be the scallies not them :x :?

If you could previously use 50 cubic metres in 2 months at the lower rate, 25 a month for 2 months arrives at the same position - assuming that your usage is fairly constant over 2 months

Huh?

Aaah, I've had a rethink, and I got your problem now...
They've doubled the billing frequency, not the billing period. The billing period is the time over which the bill is calculated. And that is now shorter/smaller/less, so really, you're not losing. Try re-reading my previous example with this "new" knowledge. Nobody is trying to trick you....

Richie!! Why don you rissen!

since 15/05/08........................Before 15/05/08
1 Escalo 5 ........................................10
2 Escalo 10 ........................................20
3 Escalo 10.........................................20
4 Escalo 25 ........................................50
5 Escalo 187

They've halved the qualifying ammounts!! now for example after using 50cm' before '08 I would move to the top rate, now, I do that after consuming 25cm' The only difference is they now bill monthly rather than bi-monthly, so before 15/05/08 for a months billing I should get on scale 1, aw! I'm getting confused myself now, somethings wrong though :x

Pato, thanks for editing that table.

What are those numbers 5, 10 20 ?
Are they euros per something ?

Its just conceivable that I am confused too, but I think there's an answer somewhere.

You are getting me confused now.
Bi-monthly you used to be allowed to use 50 before reaching the higher rate. Therefore monthly you half that so that you can use 25 before reaching the higher rate. I think that is the same only if you are living for 2 months at a time in your apartment. If you are only using up to a month at a time then you lose out. Therefore I am losing out. :(
Another thing that concerns me is, do you pay a minimal charge each month if you do not use any water? If so has that been halved or are you still paying it monthly? Hope I havn't confused us more. :? :D
