Aliminuinm

Post by Aron »

Hi,

Does anybody know where aliminuinm or scrap metal can be weighed in to be sold, and if so how much per tonne.

Thanks.

Just curious, but does one "acquire" a suitable amount of aluminium at one's holiday home to have enough to weigh in?

...looked to me like a valid question deserving a proper answer, if someone can help.

Agreed but it's also an intriguing one. :) Maybe a satellite crashed in their pool.

We got a friend to take our old windows and doors for scrap, price he got was next to nothing about 50€ ( prices dropped worldwide in last few months). To be able to sell you have to be registered with the scrap merchant so they know not stolen property and all hinges/screws have to be removed. Not really worth the bother.

Thanks, Jaylay

I am having new windows fitted and thought it may be worth it.

In the last place where I worked, prior to it winding up, they gave up the contract with the scrap metal dealers and what aluminium scrap was left was going in the skip. I took a box load of reasonably solid lumps along to the local scrappy, but was disappointed to be offered a pittance. However, cash is cash, and the "leaving do" kitty benefited from a little boost. It will also be useful to have the stuff recycled, rather than thrown in the local tip.
