irradiated food in portugal

does anyone know if here in portugal or spain they irradiate food...sometimes for example we have bought strawberrys and they sit in the fridge as good as new for two weeks or more?

any ideas?

You can buy a great big box of strwaberries in Intermarche for about 5 euros, and they have grown a fur coat by the time you get back to the villa. Yummie
