We often use it, the old place used to have a pet parrot who would raise one leg and say Bom Dia as you went in.

Hi Steve,
I often went in the Classic21 to have a galao, the large milky coffee..Ive had a couple meals there, just simple stuff like sardine salad and maybe a toastie and you are right, its a great place to sit and watch the world go by. Has it changed hands? I did know the couple who used to run it.
Ellen I await your report querida

When we were there in May, we noticed that Classic 2l has changed and is now an italian. have to say it didn'tlook very good.
Its a shame because the chicken piri piri was very nice and reasonably priced.

Im not very surprised Tricks mate.I was talking to a friend in Lagoa (actually we had coffee outside the Classic 21) and she told me that the couple who ran it had split up.Such a shame, they were such a nice little family with 2 beautiful children. I liked the atmosphere there but if its like you say, then I don't fancy it much now :(
Hope alls well with you & yours

What was Classic 21 is now an Italian restaurant run by the same family who have the Italian next to the Auditorium in Lagoa. It's full every lunchtime, inside and out!
