Dear Guest...far be it for me to question someone's spelling, but for the life of me I cannot find the word "spelt" in the dictionary. Should it have been "spelled" and not "spelt". To take this a bit further or farther as the case may be, I noticed that the word whisle is used quite often (another word I cannot find in the dictionary) instead of while.

Maybe you can enlighten this American on these two words.

Try looking up the the Oxford Dictionary, where 'spelt' is seen to be the past participle of 'spell'. The word whisle I am not familiar with, so I cannot enlighten you there.

However, since I am in a benevolent mood I will, on this occasion, forgive an American.
